This paper pack contains 10 one-of-a-kind ecoprints I created with ginkgo leaves and natural logwood and madder dyes on a variety of papers including watercolour paper, mixed media paper and sheet music. Each of these pieces is 8.5 inches by 5.5 inches (22 x 13 cm). The papers in this pack would be great for making junk journals, mixed media collage, cards and more. Embellish them with paints and inks or leave them as they are and turn them into the covers of small notebooks, bookmarks, greeting cards, gift tags and more. Every pack is unique and each paper is hand printed.
The distinctive fan-shaped ginkgo leaf is a symbol of longevity because a ginkgo tree can live for a thousand years and also a symbol of profound endurance because four ginkgo trees survived the nuclear blast at Hiroshima and are still growing today.
Ecoprinting – also called botanical contact printing – is the process of capturing the natural dyes and pigments in leaves and flowers on paper using heat and pressure. Every print is unique and all the colors come from plants – I don’t use any synthetic dyes, inks or paints.
