This pack contains nearly 100 grams of ecoprinted paper I created on a variety of papers, including 90lb watercolour paper, mixed media paper and recycled sheet music, using ginkgo leaves and natural logwood and madder dyes. These papers are offcuts from my bookbinding studio. Most will be rectangular and there will be a broad range of sizes: the largest around 8 inches by 4 inches and the smallest 2 inches by 4 inches plus thin strips and everything in between.

These papers are great for making mixed media collages and all kinds of paper crafts. Embellish them with paints and inks or leave them as they are and turn them into the covers of small notebooks, bookmarks, note cards, gift tags and even weave with it. You will receive a one-of-a-kind paper pack carefully packaged in a reusable clear cellophane bag.

The distinctive fan-shaped ginkgo leaf is a symbol of longevity because the tree can live for a thousand years and a symbol of profound endurance because four ginkgos survived the blast at Hiroshima and are still growing today.

Ecoprinting, which is also called botanical contact printing, is the process of capturing dyes and pigments in leaves and flowers on paper using heat and pressure. All the colors you see come from natural plant dyes – I don’t use any synthetic dyes, inks or paints – and every print is unique. I especially like to print with flowers and flower petals because they contain the most colourful pigments.
