This unique handcrafted book contains 180 pages of white acid-free 70 lb drawing paper, which is fountain-pen friendly. I used waxed linen thread for the Coptic stitch binding, which creates beautiful exposed braids on the spine and allows the pages to lie flat when the book is open, making it comfortable to write in.
The covers are original ecoprints I created on watercolour paper using chestnut leaves and morning glory petals. Ecoprinting – also called botanical contact printing – is the process of capturing the natural dyes and pigments in leaves and flowers on paper using heat and pressure. Every print is unique and all the colours come from plants – I don’t use any synthetic dyes, inks or paints. My one-of-a-kind, handcrafted journals capture the essence of a summer flower garden.
